The copy in sources/local/development_templates.json, added by #140, has gone stale in the way the guide warns about. Its description says "sixteen database engines", which was last true around 0.9.x, and its env list is empty, so STORAGE_PROVIDER is never set: the app then runs in local mode, PUT /api/storage/connections answers 404 "Server storage is not enabled", and the /app/data volume the entry declares holds none of the user's saved connections. CREATING_A_TEMPLATE asks for the other arrangement, so this follows it. The template now lives on our own default branch at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/libredb/libredb-studio/main/portainer-template.json and this adds the sources.csv row for it. Per step 3 the local copy goes in the same change, since otherwise it keeps winning and the updates never show up. There is no overrides.json entry to remove. The published template is not a copy of the old one. It carries the five recommended fields the local entry already had, and three env entries it did not: STORAGE_PROVIDER and STORAGE_SQLITE_PATH as presets, so the volume actually holds the user's work, and AUTH_COOKIE_SECURE, editable, because without it the session cookie is marked Secure for any non-loopback host and sign-in returns to the login page while the container stays healthy. Measured on a LAN address: without it, zero cookies stored and GET /api/auth/me 401; with it, cookie stored and 200 authenticated. title and type match the entry being removed, so nothing in the catalogue changes name or doubles up. lib/validate_sources.py against the new URL reports 0 errors and 0 warnings, and against the repository's own default targets reports 0 errors with 32 warnings, all of them pre-existing on other templates.
